The Federation of Tour Operators has publications and training material that are available for purchase

Our publications and training material are as follows:-

• Preferred Code of Practice - Health and Safety
  A comprehensive document available in hard copy or CD ROM, containing the fundamental requirements in a property regarding fire safety, food hygiene, pool safety, general safety, beach safety, children's clubs, villa safety, incident investigations, natural disasters and communicable diseases.

   

• Preferred Code of Practice - Disabled and Persons with Reduced Mobility
  The EU have issued new legislation concerning the rights of disabled persons and persons of reduced mobility when travelling by air, part of which come into force on the 1st July 2007. In response to this and other legislation relating to disabled travellers, the FTO have produced, for and on behalf of its members, a Preferred Code of Practice to assist with understanding and practical implementation issues.
  
• Safety is no Accident - training video
  A modular training video which explains what to look for when conducting inspections in the hotel environment includes fire safety, food hygiene, swimming pool safety, general property safety, and children's clubs.
  
• Introduction to Safety - training course
  A one-day training course for tour operators who are keen to introduce health and safety into their business.
  
  
• Health and Safety Training for Operator Personnel - training cours
  A one-day training course for tour operators who are keen to provide an introduction to health and safety for their overseas, purchasing and operational staff.
  
  
• ECOMOST Study Summary
  A summary of the study undertaken to ascertain how tourism can be sustained.
