‘Safe & Sound’ - New Health and Safety DVD
The Federation of Tour Operators and ABTA, have launched a brand new Health & Safety training DVD which features broadcaster Konnie Huq and respected health and safety consultant Ian Greaves from IGI as the industry best practice training tool for holiday accommodation.

‘Safe & Sound’, is a modular training DVD which provides important key safety information regarding holiday accommodation. It can be used as a training tool for hoteliers, tour operators in the UK and overseas, and for students and lecturers involved in travel and tourism courses.

The DVD covers important subjects such as Fire Safety, Food Hygiene, Pool Safety, Safety on the Beach, General Safety, Children’s Clubs & Play Areas, Communicable Diseases, and Incident Investigation.

The film has been produced by Acrobat TV, a Manchester-based TV production company.  Angela Hills, ABTA’s Destination Services Manager said: “We would encourage all suppliers of holiday accommodation as well as travel providers to use this training DVD as part of their safety management procedures.  The benefits of this training tool is that it can be used in its entirety, as a feature length production forming part of a full health & safety training course, or in a modular format in bite size chunks as a practical introduction or refresher course in a specific subject.  This DVD complements the FTO Preferred Code of Practice for holiday accommodation”.

For further information on how to purchase this crucial training tool or the Preferred Code of Practice please contact the ABTA Destination Services team on +44 (0) 20 3117 0590 or email destinations@abta.co.uk for more details.
