The future we would welcome EU directives on health and safety

We would welcome greater harmonisation of safety standards throughout the EU, and greater effort from national governments on enforcement.

Whilst fully accepting our important role in fulfilling our responsibilities for the safety of our customers, we believe it is wrong to suggest - as some do - that operators should be the prime enforcement and checking mechanism: not least because around half the people who take overseas holidays do not travel with tour operators.
